Neurodynamics refers to the communication and movement between different parts of the nervous system, and the relationship of the nervous system to the musculoskeletal system. It has been shown that the nerves move independently from other tissues, and assessing this relationship is an important part of injury assessment and treatment.
If your physiotherapist uses neurodynamics in your individualized treatment plan, they will place your body in different positions designed to relieve or increase tension in the nervous system, then move another body part, or work directly along the nerve pathway.
